Knowledge & Information Management that enable Strategies, Decisions & Actions

We believe that knowledge is the underlying currency of the world. And that the continues pursuit and management of it should be a priority. It is an asset and enabler to solving challenges, exploiting opportunities, and driving continues improvement across the organization.

This means that it should be an organizational goal to learn from the past and apply that knowledge in decisions on strategies and actions for the future. Knowledge applied, and the nervous system to organizational value chains.

KIMLY = Knowledge & Information Management Family

We are a group of freelancers working together to make the world a better place. We want our work to have meaning, more than just working for a paycheck. Yes we also execute projects for big industries, but like everyone else we have to pay the bills.

It is the goal of this initiative to make normally unaffordable services affordable for good cause institutions and organizations. In short, we do not charge the rates that the big organizations pay and there is no middle man. Projects are treated just like any other project,  thus Scoped, executed, managed and coordinated.

What is a good cause?

Information + Wisdom = Insight

Information

Information is processed, organized and structured data. It provides context for data.

Wisdom

Wisdom is the ability to contemplate and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, and common sense.

Knowledge

Knowledge is a familiarity or awareness, of someone or something, such as facts (descriptive knowledge), skills (procedural knowledge), or objects (acquaintance knowledge) contributing to ones understanding.

We have already contemplated…..

Insight

Insight is the understanding of a specific cause and effect within a particular context. And once validated becomes knowledge.

For fun……

A giant ship engine failed. The ship’s owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine.

Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed!

A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.

“What?!” the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything!”

So they wrote the old man a note saying, “Please send us an itemized bill.

The man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer………………….. $ 2.00

Knowing where to tap……………………….. $ 9,998.00

Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference!
